MarFlex is the first to supply electric drive deepwell pumps for a 70,000 DWT Ice Class 1A Shuttle Tanker

MarFlex has obtained an order to supply deepwell pump systems for three 70,000 DWT Shuttle Tankers Ice Class 1A, built by Samsung Heavy Industries Korea. Paul van Beveren, Managing Director of Marflex "We are proud to be the first company ever to supply electric drive deepwell pumps for a 70,000 DWT Ice Class 1A tanker."

The equipment to be supplied includes: 10 cargo pumps type MDPC-250 with a capacity of 800 m3/hr and a head of 135 mlc 2 slop pumps type MDPC-200 with a capacity of 500 m3/hr and a head of 135 mlc 2 ballast pumps type MBDPC-500 with a capacity of 2500 m3/hr and a head of 25 mlc. In addition, MarFlex will also supply the variable speed drive system.

The pump system for the first ship will be delivered in March 2007.
