Continuing good cooperation, prominent Danish shipowner NORDEN has chosen for MarFlex electric drive pumping systems on board their four newbuildings. The new vessels have a cargo capacity of 49.600 dwt and bring NORDEN’s owned product tanker fleet up to a total of 21. Out of which the last 15 are equipped with the MarFlex electric drive deepwell pumping system.
NORDEN took over the newbuilding contracts at Korean yard STX Offshore and Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and optimised the design of the vessels. Originally planned equipment and systems where taken out of the design and replaced by more efficient equals, resulting in 25% less fuel consumption and CO2 emissions when compared to NORDEN's previous newbuildings of 2007.
MarFlex will supply the electric drive deepwell pumping system fitted with integrated Advanced Power Management System making the MarFlex system even more efficient.
The MarFlex scope of supply will be delivered in 2012. The vessels will be delivered in 2013.
