MarFlex has been awarded for the delivery of 8 MarFlex MDPD-80 deepwell cargo pumps per vessel for the series of 40 Parsifal LNG inland tanker projects.
On Thursday, December 3, 2020, MarFlex CEO - Mr Taisuke Inui and Concordia Damen CEO - Mr Chris Kornet signed the contract for the delivery of 320 MarFlex MDPD-80 deepwell cargo pumps. The first pump sets will be shipped to the yard in summer 2021, continuing at monthly intervals until the series is completed.
Institutional investors advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management made the project possible and also became the owner of all the vessels. These barges will be chartered by Shell to transport mineral oils and will be operated by the new joint venture between VT Group and Marlow Navigation.
The 110 x 11.45 metres vessels will have LNG propulsion and extreme shallow draught capabilities – 2800 tons with a 3.25 metre draught – in order to maximise their cargo carrying capacity on Dutch, Belgian and German canal and river networks.
